Profound and Multiple Learning disabilities and Complex Care Needs

The Activity and Wellbeing service Profound and Multiple Learning disabilities and Complex Care Needs.

This area of service delivers high quality individual programmes of meaningful and stimulating activities for people with high level needs from our centre and out in the community.

Our highly experienced team have a wide knowledge in all aspects of care and support for people with profound and multiple learning disabilities and complex health care needs including dementia. We work with a number of health professionals to ensure individuals’ care needs are fully met and to also deliver individual therapeutic programmes such as communication, sensory stimulation, physiotherapy, massage and hydrotherapy.

We are also enhancing our service by focusing on ‘Enablement through Technology’ to support individuals and their families to widen their knowledge of assistive technology.

Our continuing commitment to working closely with family carers is a key part to the delivery and planning of the care and support we deliver. This enables carers to have confidence in the care and support being delivered and provides them with respite and assistance to help them to continue in their caring role.

In addition, we also provide a service for adults with learning disabilities and dementia and/or complex care needs. We are able to provide a safe, stimulating environment, with a staff team who have specialist skills to meet the changing needs of this unique group. This enables those with dementia to stay in their own homes longer, maintaining routine, familiarity and stimulation.
